What we missed about Trump's Win...

One of my friend's and former college teammates wrote a blog about the election last week.  His blog is right here.  Read Eric's words and then comment below about why you think that Donald Trump is now our President Elect.

Be thorough and tell us what you think are the reasons for Trumps victory.

  1. Donald Trump won the presidency because of 3 factors.
    1. His message of job growth for the workers who have been devastated in the Rust Belt from outsourcing helped turn Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan Red.
    2. The media projected a Clinton blowout and with the format of the electoral college, democratic voters in the "solid blue" states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin did not feel the need to come out and vote.
    3. People are unhappy with the way our government has been operating and Donald Trump is not part of the establishment that got us to this point.

  2. Donald Trump won and here is why:
    1. He won the Florida vote. This was crucial in order for him to even have a chance to win the election.
    2. He is the change that people are looking for in the government. They want something new after eight years, and he was the "change" canidate.
    3. He appealed to workers by saying that he will help their jobs.
    4. The polls taken before the election were inaccurate. Not many people want to say they support Trump in public so I think that this messed up the polling numbers.

  4. I strongly believe that Trump won the electoral college votes in a landslide because
    1) Clinton didn't appeal to the minority group as strongly as she should have. I believe she became quite cocky in that sense, believing that just because she had the an African American president backing her, she had the minority vote.
    2) A large majority of people who voted for Trump were uneducated white males. While Trump did not appeal to the moderate or minority voters, he did expand the vote and brought more people who wouldn't usually vote out to vote.
    3) A large majority of people who voted for Trump were dissatisfied with the Obama presidency, or even how government is right now. They voted for change, and they believed that Trump would bring that change.
