His classmates believe that he hasn’t changed since military academy and still holds the same views.

3. She was an attorney on the watergate scandal.
TRUMP:
ReplyDelete1. Trump’s upbringing and past as an elitist particularly from the influence of his father exemplify his conservative political views. Trump’s strong business persona is bound to attract voters with similar upbringings and the belief that society should be “survival of the fittest”.
2. There is particularly a controversy on Trump’s statements on women that are considered misogynistic. In this documentary the reveal of his idealization of Hugh Hefner as a teen may cause voter’s to further advocate the argument that we shouldn’t vote for Trump because he lacks respect for women.
3. Trump had 3 wives and there was lots of controversy over the Ivana and Trump when gossip spread that Trump was no longer attracted to Ivana because she had children. Such a dark past could also cause voters, especially those who consider Trump a misogynist pig to not vote for him. Trump’s publicity in the past is indeed sparking lots of negative controversy as being a successful businessman and being the president of the United States are two very different roles.
HILLARY:
1. Hillary’s abusive relationship with her father and her overcoming of such an adversity would advocate the image that she is trying to spread to her supporters as the embodiment of a “strong feminine figure” in a sexist society.
2. Hillary stood by Bill throughout the scandal and was made a fool of. By continuing to stay with Bill, Hillary’s image as a strong feminine figure was truly tarnished.
3. Also in order to advocate Bill’s political campaign, Hillary changed her identity and chose to make choices such as changing her maiden name. As we talked about in class many “older” women in the voting demographic despise Hillary for her inability to stay a strong independent women and constantly having a deteriorating reputation and image.
This documentary seems liberally biased like most of the other media we see these days. Particularly because it is so much easier to disparage Trump for his melodramatic actions and controversy as a supposed “racist”, “misogynist” and “megalomaniac” than it is to attack a crooked politician who acts like she is the Mother Teresa of minorities. As a man who speaks his mind, Trump does say some stupid stuff especially if one considers the remarks he made as a cutthroat business man but there are reasons he has so many supporters beyond the uneducated white male demographic. Because people are so frustrated with politicians, the public has finally simply chosen someone who will voice the concerns of our nation and expose the corruption and abuse of the political system. I’m honestly tired of watching Hillary being praised for being a better person than Trump as so many liberals are simply voting for Hillary because “Trump is a racist bigot.”. This election honestly will lead to either another four years of nothing being done or having our country represented by a “no holds barred” ex-businessman. I feel like Hillary should be criticized and exposed just as much as Trump is right now because she has proven to be an individual who changes her views, identity and political platform based on public opinion. If Hillary is to become president then she should at least be exposed for all of the corruption and lies she has made under oath. Hillary should not be allowed getaway with having an illegal email database that has jeopardized national security and has potential information that could have led to the deaths of troops and who knows what kind of information could have been breached on her private server and what kind of results would have occurred. I feel like considering all the controversy that Trump has sparked he will probably not be elected president but Hillary is not exactly someone anyone should consider a suitable figurehead to represent our country either.

Trump:
ReplyDelete-trump only got an invitation because he bashed Obama for months...Obama roasted Trump because of the birther movement...
-the Trumps believe that there are superior people and if you put two superior people together, they have superior offspring. Men better than women but a good woman was better than ten good men. Donald learned this from his father, amongst many other "trump ideals".
-trump was mentored by Roy Cohn (from the McCarthy hearings) while in manhattan and Cohnpassed on certain ideals (and his lack of morals). Donald had a picture of Roy in his drawer to show off. Roy was trumps lawyer for many many court cases and lawsuits.
Clinton:
-Hillary moved to Arkansas to be with Bill...was cut out of the political world by being a women in conservative Arkansas. Found her way back in by spearheading Bill's governor campaign after he lost reelection as governor.
-Hillary has had this air of secrecy all of her life. Began in her childhood with her abusive parents, continued on through college years, years as a lawyer, and time in the white house as First Lady.
-as a child, Hillary went to Chicago with a youth pastor and friends to see Martin Luther King Jr speak. It impacted her and helped shape how she thought of the world by giving her new ideas and viewpoints. Later on in life, King's death truly stuck with Clinton and her friends remember her reaction to his death very vividly (throwing things, crying for days)
Trump:
ReplyDelete1)He was publicly ridiculed by Obama (for his leading role in the Birther Movement) during the White House Correspondents Dinner. This public embarrassment probably lead to his decision to run for president.
2)Trump attended the New York Military Academy, which provided a structured environment he enjoyed. He was also a star athlete.
3) His older brother, Fred Jr. was seen by their father as a failure. Like him, Donald viewed Fred's inability to succeed their father as a lack of the killer instinct he possessed. Fred Jr. eventually died of alcoholism
Clinton:
1)Her family life was not warm or loving. Her parents seldom praised her for excelling academically and her mother passed her ambitions on to Hillary.
2) After failing to pass the DC bar exam, she moved to Arkansas and eventually married Bill. She was seen as an outsider by the people of Arkansas and took it very hard when Bill was not reelected. She changed her look, adopting a more traditional haircut and wardrobe. She also changed her accent to more of a southern drawl.
3) When Bill was elected President, he put her in charge of his Healthcare Bill. Public opinion swung against her due to her secretive meetings. On Hillary's Healthcare tour she was met with many angry Americans, eventually convincing her to diminish her role in creating policy.
